A 36-year-old woman has been arrested and placed in police custody following a violent armed assault on the director and a teacher at the Clément Roassal kindergarten in Nice. The incident occurred on Monday morning around 9:00 AM, when the suspect, who is the mother of two children enrolled at the school, arrived at the facility's reception to request an urgent meeting with the principal.

According to Damien Martinelli, the prosecutor for the Republic of Nice, and Éric Ciotti, the mayor of Nice, the woman was received by the director but immediately threatened her by pointing a firearm in her direction while leveling accusations. The attack also involved physical violence against the teaching staff. Mayor Ciotti visited the school near the center of Nice to denounce the incident as an aggression of unprecedented and particularly serious violence.

Authorities have opened an investigation for attempted murder. The suspect, whose two children attend the kindergarten, has a criminal record with two previous convictions. The details of the confrontation suggest a scenario described by local reports as involving Russian roulette tactics alongside physical assaults.
