BMW expects 2026 to be a difficult year financially, with the possibility that its core automotive business will make a loss. The company said on Tuesday evening that the segment is now forecast to deliver, at best, a break-even result before taxes for the year.
The outlook could be worse: BMW said the division’s result may fall into negative territory. The warning comes as the company already faces substantial charges this year, including severance payments for thousands of employees and the early discontinuation of older electric-car models.
