A quiet tribute unfolded on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this Thursday as visitors gathered beside Sir Patrick Stewart's star, where flowers were laid in memory of the celebrated British actor. His wax figure at Madame Tussauds Hollywood also served as a reminder of his enduring presence on screen.

According to his family, Stewart died at his Los Angeles home on Wednesday at the age of 86. He was surrounded by his wife, Sunny Ozell, following a brief illness involving Alzheimer's disease and Lewy body dementia.

Stewart's career spanned generations, ranging from the Shakespearean stage to the bridge of the Starship Enterprise. His portrayal of Captain Jean-Luc Picard established him as a defining figure in Star Trek, while his role as Professor Charles Xavier introduced him to audiences of the X-Men films.

Fellow actor William Shatner remembered Stewart as a performer who brought intelligence, grace, and humanity to everything he did. He is survived by his wife Ozell and their two children, Daniel and Sophie.
