The Federal Highway Police (PRF) has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding a fatal accident involving two cars that occurred on the morning of Monday, November 2, on the BR-277 highway in Palmeira, located in the Campos Gerais region of Paraná. The incident claimed the lives of four individuals and left two others injured.
According to the authorities, all four victims were passengers in a vehicle originating from Curitiba. The Fire Department reported that after the driver completed an overtaking maneuver and attempted to return to the right lane on a section with a third lane, the vehicle spun out on the track and collided with another car traveling in the opposite direction. The front of the opposing vehicle struck the side of the car carrying the victims.
The deceased include a 29-year-old man, two women aged 47 and 54, and a seven-year-old boy. Their names have not been released publicly. The other vehicle involved in the crash was from Araucária and was transporting three people. Two of these occupants sustained minor injuries, while the third reported pain but showed no apparent physical lesions.
The Fire Department noted that although it was not raining at the time of the accident, the road surface remained wet due to rainfall earlier in the morning. The PRF has a five-day deadline to complete the Traffic Accident Forensic Report. Once finalized, this document will be forwarded to the Civil Police, which will determine whether a crime occurred and identify those responsible.
