Eurostar has announced that Christophe Fanichet will assume the role of general manager starting December 1. He replaces Gwendoline Cazenave at the high-speed rail operator that services the Channel Tunnel.

Fanichet previously served as the CEO of SNCF Voyageurs but was removed from that position in July by Jean Castex, the head of the public railway company. The announcement regarding his new appointment was made on Monday.

Eurostar, which is 55.75% owned by SNCF Voyageurs, operates a fleet of 51 high-speed trains. Under Cazenave's leadership, the company unified Eurostar and Thalys under a single brand. The network connects Paris and London while also serving destinations in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany.
