Gretchen, 67, experienced an unplanned incident during her set at the Rock The Mountain festival last Sunday. While performing the song "Chorando Se Foi" alongside a dancer, her wig fell off in the middle of the choreography. Rather than stopping the show to fix the issue immediately, the singer used the moment to address her relationship with alopecia directly with the audience.

The artist paused the music briefly to discuss the accessory falling off. Gretchen explained that she had not intended to remove the wig at that specific time but decided to transform the episode into an opportunity to talk about self-esteem and acceptance. She stated that the power of women, echoing Taís Araujo, does not lie in their hair. Although the incident was not intentional, she felt it happened at the right moment to share her reality, expressing pride in who she is as a powerful and unique individual.

Following the performance, Gretchen revealed that she has received messages from women who identify with her experience. Some fans even approached her at the airport to thank her for speaking openly about hair loss. During her remarks, she also highlighted a newfound appreciation for the simple ability to shower and feel water directly on her scalp after undergoing treatment.

The singer noted that her condition was worsened by a chemical haircut and micropigmentation procedures on her scalp. While she initially sought these treatments to disguise hair loss, they failed to produce the desired effect and further damaged the areas already affected by alopecia. Gretchen emphasized that the consequences of this condition affect women in a painful way, contrasting it with the male experience where wearing a cap is often seen as stylish. She argued that for women, covering up without hair can feel equivalent to being bald, significantly impacting self-esteem.
