King Charles III and Queen Camilla were caught in heavy rain as they attended Antigua and Barbuda’s Independence Day celebrations on Sunday, November 1. The couple sat alongside Prime Minister Gaston Browne at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

Governor-General Rodney Williams greeted them before a ceremony recognising citizens for their contributions to national development.

The visit coincided with Antigua and Barbuda hosting the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting from November 1 to 4. The gathering brought leaders together to discuss investment, development and international cooperation.

Antigua and Barbuda gained independence from Britain on November 1, 1981.
