Supporters of Brazil's President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) held a rally at Praça Universitária in Goiânia on Sunday (Nov. 1) to celebrate his reelection. The event, called "Festa da Vitória" (Victory Party), was organized by student organizations and left-wing parties, and the gathering began around 3 p.m.

Federal deputy-elect for Goiás Adriana Accorsi (PT) took part in the act. A large crowd filled the space among tents and colorful stalls, carrying flags, banners and stickers bearing Lula's name and number. The outlet g1 said it contacted the Military Police for a crowd estimate but had received no response as of the last update of its report.

Many demonstrators appeared dressed in red, smiling and using their phones to record the celebration in daylight. Supporters also gathered around the Municipal Library Marieta Telles Machado, which is located in the square itself.

A large group occupied the building's concrete canopy, with people standing or sitting along the marquee, while another part of the public stayed at street level with party flags, rainbow-colored accessories and Brazilian flags.
