A 36-year-old man has been arrested for domestic violence in Praia Grande, on the coast of São Paulo, after attacking his 41-year-old partner. According to the Civil Police, the woman was found hiding in a void on the second floor of the building where she lives with her children.
The incident took place on Saturday, November 30, at the couple's apartment in the Vila Caiçara neighborhood. The Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) was called to the scene, where officers located the man in the building's garage and discovered the woman concealed with her children.
The São Paulo State Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP) reported that the victim told police her partner became aggressive following an argument and pushed her inside the apartment. She also stated that she had been threatened with death. A witness confirmed the assault and recounted having to intervene to separate the couple.
The case was registered at the Women's Defense Police Station (DDM) in Praia Grande, and the suspect remains in custody awaiting judicial disposition.
