A 29-year-old man was arrested in flagrante in Botucatu, São Paulo, after allegedly pretending to be an e-commerce delivery worker to get near his former partner’s home, in violation of an emergency protective order. The court order also protected the couple’s 3-year-old daughter.

According to the police report, the man went to the property on October 31 claiming to deliver an online purchase. He reportedly rang the doorbell repeatedly and began insulting the woman.

After noticing his presence and the alleged breach of the court order, the victim activated the panic button through the SOS Maria da Penha app. A specialized team from the Municipal Civil Guard’s Maria da Penha Patrol was sent to the address and found the man still outside the property.

He was approached, detained and taken to the Women’s Defense Police Station, where he was formally arrested for violating the emergency protective order. He remained in custody at the disposal of the courts.
