The Mega da Virada 2026 draw is scheduled for 11 a.m. on January 1, 2027, with the prize estimated at more than R$1 billion. Tickets went on sale on November 3 and can be purchased until 10 p.m. on December 31, 2026.
The 2025 draw paid out a record R$1.09 billion, above its initial estimate of R$850 million. Six tickets matched all the winning numbers, with each receiving more than R$181.8 million.
The rules follow those of regular Mega-Sena draws. Players choose from 60 numbers and must match all six to win the top prize. Smaller prizes are available for matching five numbers, known as the quina, or four, known as the quadra.
The prize does not roll over. If no ticket matches all six numbers, the amount allocated to the top prize is shared among quina winners. If there are no winners in that tier either, it goes to quadra winners.
Tickets can be bought at Caixa lottery outlets across Brazil or online through the Loterias Caixa website and app. Players can select their own numbers, use the Surpresinha option for an automatic selection, or buy shares in a group bet. The minimum six-number ticket costs R$6, and the price increases when more numbers are selected.
