Melania Trump will personally bring representatives of Russia and Ukraine together at the White House, the Office of the First Lady said in a statement on Tuesday. The statement did not specify who would make up either delegation.
Trump is expected to speak at the White House on Thursday, according to the announcement.
The planned meeting follows a recent humanitarian truce in the part of Ukraine’s Kherson region under Russian control. Washington said the truce was negotiated at the initiative of the US president’s wife.
