Elon Musk urged voters to support Republicans in a post on X, writing: “Today, vote red.” Red is the party’s traditional color in the United States.
Musk has donated more than $450 million to Republicans for the midterm elections, focusing particularly on Texas, which he has chosen as his residence. The state’s Senate contest is among the most closely watched races, with Republican candidate Ken Paxton facing Democrat James Talarico.
Texas has not elected a Democrat since 1988.
