The combined wealth of Spain’s 100 richest people reached €300.53 billion in 2026, a 16.1% increase from the previous year, according to the latest Forbes Spain ranking. Amancio Ortega and his daughter Sandra Ortega again occupy the top two positions, while Mercadona’s Juan Roig has returned to the top three.
Inditex founder Amancio Ortega leads the ranking with an estimated fortune of €125.2 billion, up 13.9% year on year. He is ranked 12th on Forbes’ global list. Sandra Ortega is second, with €11.5 billion, a 15% increase.
Roig climbed from fourth to third after his fortune rose 24% to €9.8 billion. He displaced Ferrovial chairman Rafael del Pino, who fell to fifth place. Juan Carlos Escotet, president of Abanca and Deportivo de La Coruña, moved up to fourth with €8.1 billion, after a 31% rise.
The ranking also reflects strong growth among people with financial-sector holdings. The combined wealth of those listed in the sector increased 44.4% over the past year to €17.47 billion. The March Delgado brothers, linked to Banca March and Corporación Financiera Alba, have more than €8.1 billion, while Ana Botín appears for the first time, in 97th place, with €550 million.
Several business figures make their debuts. Fernando Masaveu, president of Corporación Masaveu, enters at number 30 with €1.7 billion. Aluminios Cortizo founder José Manuel Cortizo ranks 76th with €750 million, and Grupo Cox executive chairman Enrique Riquelme is 90th with €620 million. At 37, Riquelme is the youngest person on the list. Atlético de Madrid chief executive Miguel Ángel Gil Marín also features, with €730 million.
Some names have dropped out, including businesswoman Dolores Ortega and her mother, Primitiva Renedo, as well as Luis Fernández Somoza, the Grifols family and the García-Baquero family. Forbes attributes most departures to a higher entry threshold: €510 million this year, compared with €450 million in the previous edition.
Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid and the ACS group, retained a place in the top 10 after his wealth rose 58% to €4.9 billion. Among women, who account for 26% of the ranking, Sandra Ortega remains the richest. Mercadona vice-president Hortensia Herrero is sixth with €5.55 billion, while María del Pino y Calvo Sotelo holds ninth place with €4.2 billion.
Madrid has the largest number of fortunes on the list, with 33 people whose combined wealth is €54.6 billion. Catalonia follows with 26 people and €33.04 billion. Galicia has the highest total wealth, €147.05 billion, concentrated among five fortunes, including Ortega’s.
