Poland thwarted what appeared to be an attempted provocation near its border with Russia’s Kaliningrad exclave overnight, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said. He offered few details about the incident.

Tusk said he was informed shortly after midnight by border guards that suspicious movements had been observed along the Polish-Russian border. People carrying flashlights were seen in the area, and Polish guards prevented an incident from occurring.
