Vera Lúcia Antunes, pedagogical coordinator at Objetivo, identified an error in mathematics question 23 on version 1 of the Fuvest 2027 exam, which was administered on Sunday, Nov. 1. According to Antunes, who analyzed the exam questions, the item places Porto de Galinhas in Pernambuco at 35 degrees west, but the longitude is written as east.

Antunes said east would be correct for a location in Angola, while Pernambuco is in the west, and that the discrepancy produces a different calculation. She added that, considering only the mathematical concepts and setting aside the geographic error, one of the answer choices can be selected.

CNN Brasil contacted Fuvest, the university entrance exam foundation, which said it would only comment on the reported error after 48 hours, the period given to students to file appeals. The official answer key for the first phase has already been published on Fuvest's official website; each version of the exam has a separate answer key.
