Women have often been remembered as muses and models, while their own work as artists received less attention. In “Visionnaires,” Prune Nourry looks to women sculptors across art history and creates works in tribute to them.

The exhibition, presented at the Petit Palais, includes busts and heads made primarily from plaster. Nourry considers the material as noble as marble or stone.

“Visionnaires” is a carte blanche project offered to Nourry by the Paris museum, giving her the opportunity to bring the legacy of overlooked women sculptors into view.
