Regina Ziegler is being honored as a self-made woman and an entertainment genius whose strong will made significant film art possible. Described as someone who did not do things by halves, she left behind a legacy defined by her ability to enjoy the success she had worked so hard to achieve.
In February of this year, at the age of 81, Ziegler was seen hosting a reception for her production company at Bier’s Currywurst on the Ku’damm during the Berlinale. Amidst the bustling crowd of actors, friends, celebrities, and business partners, she sat as a central gravitational force at a small table in the middle of the room.
Dressed entirely in red, her signature color, and wearing pink sneaker laces, she was flanked by former Berlin Mayor Klaus Wowereit on one side and Michelle Müntefering, head of the Producers Alliance, on the other. The event saw figures like Sebastian Fitzek passing by, while others approached to ask about business, reflecting the constant drive required to keep the industry running.
