Russia has intensified its bombardment of civilian targets throughout Ukraine, striking hospitals in Kharkiv and Kherson, a humanitarian center in the Zaporizhzhia region, the Dnipro train station, as well as shopping centers, gas stations, and residential buildings. These attacks target sites with no connection to the war effort of the country invaded four and a half years ago, resulting in a steadily rising death toll.

The deadliest recent incident occurred on Monday, November 1, when an attack struck a school in Komychouvakha, Zaporizhzhia region, which serves as a humanitarian aid distribution center every Monday. According to the latest casualty figures, the strike killed 33 people and left approximately 50 others missing. This event has deeply affected the nation, following another significant attack on the Dnipro train station on October 29 that resulted in 15 deaths.

In Komychouvakha, nine guided bombs weighing three tons each arrived in multiple waves. The initial salvo targeted individuals receiving humanitarian aid, while subsequent strikes hit survivors who had taken refuge in a shelter. The United Nations has condemned the assault, with Danielle Bell, the representative of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Kyiv, stating that the attack violates the most fundamental principles of international humanitarian law. Bell emphasized that the time and location of the humanitarian distribution had been clearly made public prior to the incident.
