The 2026 Provão Paulista begins on Wednesday, November 4, offering 15,819 places at public higher education institutions in São Paulo. The state-run exam is open to public-school students and provides routes to USP, Unesp, Unicamp, Fatecs and Univesp.
Students taking the test should note the common morning schedule: gates open at 7 a.m. and close at 7:45 a.m., with exams starting at 8 a.m. Organizers recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the gates close.
The final-year exam takes place on November 4 and 5. On the first day, testing runs until 1 p.m. because it includes an essay, and candidates must remain for at least two hours and 30 minutes. The second day runs from 8 a.m. to noon, with a two-hour minimum stay.
Second-year students sit the exam on November 10 and 11, while first-year students take it on November 12 and 13. For both groups, each test day is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon, and candidates must stay for at least two hours.
Candidates must bring an original official photo ID and a black or blue ballpoint pen made of transparent material. Students whose ID was lost, stolen or taken in a robbery may use a police report issued within the previous 90 days, together with another photo ID. Electronic devices and other prohibited belongings must be switched off and placed in the sealed storage envelope provided at the venue.
Food and drinks are allowed subject to inspection. Candidates may use the bathroom after the exam begins, accompanied by an invigilator. Eligible students with approved special education arrangements may receive up to an additional hour.
The deadline to select up to four course options is November 27. Answer keys are expected on December 7, with the first, second and third admission calls scheduled for January 18, January 26 and February 2, 2027, respectively.
