In an unexpected turn of events following a theft in Japan, a stolen Swiss luxury watch valued at approximately €260,000 has been returned to the affected shop via mail. According to media reports, the package included a handwritten note containing an apology from the individual responsible for the crime.

The incident occurred last week in Tokyo, where a man posing as a customer tried on an Audemars Piguet timepiece before fleeing the store with the watch still on his wrist. Authorities were subsequently able to identify the stolen item using its serial number.

Despite the return of the valuable goods, the Tokyo police are continuing their search for the suspect in connection with the alleged theft. The Asahi Shimbun and other media outlets reported these details citing investigation circles. Meanwhile, the store involved has declined to comment on the incident.
