Donald Trump said Monday that Iran wants to reach an agreement with the United States quickly, while claiming that oil prices were falling because people expected there would be no war with Iran.

“The oil prices are falling like stones (…) because people feel there will be no war with Iran,” the U.S. president wrote on Truth Social. He added that Iran wanted a deal “as quickly as possible” and said an agreement “could happen.”

The remarks came after Trump said on Sunday that he was prepared to deliver a “heavy blow” to the Islamic Republic. The live report also noted that Iran had reported “intense” consultations with Washington amid renewed U.S. threats.
