The death toll from Russian strikes on Komyshuvakha, in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, has risen to 26, President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his evening address. Five people were in hospital, while others remained beneath the rubble as rescue work continued.

Zelensky said the operation would go on for as long as needed to find everyone. He added that most of those killed were civilians who had come to receive humanitarian aid, along with people who arrived to help after the first strike.

The attacks hit a school being used to distribute aid, according to Zelensky. He said a second wave of nine bombs struck a shelter where people had gathered. Earlier, regional authorities had reported 24 deaths, including two firefighters and four police officers, and said 27 people were missing.

Zelensky also said Ukraine’s intelligence services had warned that Russia was preparing another large-scale attack, particularly targeting energy and logistics infrastructure. Separately, US envoy Steve Witkoff announced that Moscow and Kyiv were expected to hold US-mediated talks in Abu Dhabi on November 10 and 11. He said the discussions would cover postwar security arrangements, de-escalation, humanitarian efforts and steps toward peace.
