A Renfe Mercancías driver was taken to hospital after three freight wagons carrying grain derailed and collided with the locomotive where the driver was, on a railway section near Martorell, in Barcelona province.
The wagons left the tracks before hitting a Renfe Mercancías Series 253 locomotive, according to information reported by Cadena SER. The wagons involved in the collision also derailed.
Renfe said the driver was taken to a medical centre as a precaution and was in good condition. Adif said the accident caused no disruption to rail services.
