Iran says it is prepared to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within two days if the United States accepts its conditions. The proposed timetable is shorter than the seven days initially envisaged in negotiations.
Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, described the possibility as another sign of Tehran’s good faith. He said messages were still being exchanged through mediators.
According to Baghaei, meeting Iran’s demands would make it possible to restore security in the Strait of Hormuz and restart the negotiating process in a very short time.
