Lepas has presented the AURA, its first concept car, at an event in Wuhu, China. The prototype offers an early indication of the design direction for the new Chery Group brand, which is expected to begin selling vehicles in Brazil in the second half of 2027.

The Aura blends the profile of a shooting brake with a low stance and sloping lines. Its shape also suggests a four-door coupe, although the concept has three doors: one on the driver’s side and two on the passenger’s side. Lepas has not said whether the design will lead to a production model, describing the concept’s role as an expression of the brand’s intended positioning.

Digital lighting surfaces are among the car’s most distinctive features. At the front, feline-inspired LED headlights sit alongside a grille incorporating a digital display. At the rear, an illuminated panel in the taillight area can show the manufacturer’s name, while thin lights follow the bodywork’s outline. The company has not confirmed whether these elements will appear on a future road car.

The concept rides on 22-inch wheels with orange accents and has a cabin arranged for four, with individual seats designed to resemble massage chairs. Lepas has not released official dimensions, performance figures or equipment specifications. Its powertrain is also unknown: the limited front air openings could point to an electric configuration, but the company has provided no technical details to establish this.

The name Lepas combines the English words “leopard” and “passion,” reflecting the sportier character suggested by the Aura. The brand is intended to have its own visual identity within Chery Group’s portfolio of marques aimed at different audiences.

For Brazil, Lepas has confirmed three models: the L4, L6 and L8, which are expected to arrive in stages. The L8 is the larger SUV, while the L6 and L4 sit lower in the range. The launch order has not been announced. Lepas is also expected to bring Chery Group’s first flex-fuel plug-in hybrids to Brazil, though the company is still seeking a location for a factory.
