The body of Luik Pereira Santos, a 22-year-old motorcycle delivery driver who had been missing since Saturday night, was located late Sunday afternoon in a wooded area within the Serra region of Greater Vitória. During the search operation conducted by the Military Police, officers discovered a second corpse in an advanced state of decomposition approximately 15 meters from Santos' body. According to initial forensic assessments, Santos' remains showed signs of physical assault and gunshot wounds to the upper body.
The search efforts began after residents reported Santos' disappearance in the Jardim Central neighborhood. Authorities determined that he was last seen on the night of Saturday, November 31, while making deliveries near the José de Anchieta district. Following these reports, police initiated sweeps through dense vegetation and flooded terrain in the area. The disappearance had previously sparked a protest on Avenida Mestre Álvaro, where family members and residents blocked the road with burning tires to demand faster action from authorities. The street was eventually cleared after negotiations with the Urban Policing Command.
While Santos was identified by his relatives at the scene, the second victim remains unidentified. Due to the advanced decomposition of the second body and the risk of compromising forensic evidence, the Scientific Police requested specialized assistance for its removal. The rescue operation for the second corpse was completed on Monday morning with support from the Fire Department. Both bodies were transported to the Forensic Institute (IML) in Vitória for autopsies and official identification.
The Civil Police have formally registered the incident as a homicide investigation. As of the latest update, no suspects have been detained, and there is no confirmation regarding a connection between the two deaths. Investigators are currently working to determine the motives behind the crimes and clarify whether the cases are related.
