Police are investigating an incident on the Zugspitze after a 21-year-old climber from Bavaria reportedly left his 17-year-old companion alone on the mountain, according to SPIEGEL.
The pair had been unable to continue their climb when the man descended, leaving the young woman behind on the summit wall in temperatures of minus 12 degrees, the report says.
