A teenager assaulted by a professor from the Faculty of Dentistry at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) has begun psychological treatment following the incident, according to Murilo Ferreira Alves, the family's lawyer. The attack occurred in the early hours of Monday, November 2, at a condominium in the Aclimação neighborhood of Uberlândia. Alves stated that the young woman suffered psychological trauma and confirmed that the family intends to take legal action against the professor.

The lawyer indicated that they will request that the perpetrator be held responsible for covering the costs of the victim's therapeutic follow-up. "We will preventively require that the author be held liable for bearing the costs of this treatment, of this therapeutic accompaniment of the victim," Alves told g1. The family plans to pursue three distinct legal fronts: a criminal complaint to the Public Ministry of Minas Gerais, an administrative disciplinary process requesting the professor's dismissal from his public position, and a civil lawsuit for moral damages and reimbursement for psychological care.

According to the police report filed by the Military Police, the aggression occurred during a dispute following the disappearance of a mobile phone left by the teenager to charge in a common area of the condominium. The device was mistakenly taken by the professor's wife, who believed it belonged to a guest at an event hosted by the couple. While waiting for the return of the phone, the teenager approached the professor to inquire about its whereabouts. During the ensuing argument, the professor allegedly punched two other young people accompanying the victim before slapping the teenager in the face.

The assault caused the teenager to fall, cutting her upper lip and resulting in redness on her nose, as well as reported pain in her back and head. She received medical attention at the Integrated Care Unit (UAI) in the Tibery neighborhood. The professor was arrested in flagrante delicto for bodily injury and threats but was released after posting bail. Police noted that the educator showed clear signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, a staggering walk, and alcohol on his breath, and claimed not to remember the events.

The Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) issued a statement strongly condemning the physical aggression against the 16-year-old. Although the incident occurred outside university premises, the institution deemed any form of violence unacceptable and pledged to take appropriate measures within its competence to investigate the facts. The Faculty of Dentistry also expressed concern, reaffirming its commitment to combating all forms of violence and upholding human dignity. As of the report's publication, the professor had not yet provided a formal statement regarding the incident.
