Representatives from Ukraine, Russia and the United States are expected to meet in Abu Dhabi on November 10 and 11, US special envoy Steve Witkoff said. The working-level talks are aimed at advancing negotiations to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Witkoff said discussions would cover post-war security arrangements, de-escalation, humanitarian assistance and possible next steps toward peace. The United States will mediate the meeting, according to his announcement on X.
Witkoff also said US representatives would meet this week in Brussels with officials from Germany, France, the United Kingdom, NATO and the European Union. Their discussions are set to address security guarantees for Ukraine, Europe’s post-war security order and reconstruction.
The last trilateral negotiations involving the United States, Russia and Ukraine took place in Geneva in February. The three countries had also held two earlier rounds in Abu Dhabi. Russian President Vladimir Putin said last month, after meeting Witkoff, that Moscow was ready to resume trilateral contacts.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said last week that he hoped the European Union would be involved in talks with Russia and the United States. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, meanwhile, has criticized European efforts to take part in the peace process.
