The water supply network in Várzea Grande, located in the metropolitan region of Cuiabá, is set to undergo significant reform and adaptation works. The State Secretariat of Infrastructure and Logistics (Sinfra) published a service order on Tuesday, November 3, authorizing the start of operations from October 22. The project has been contracted for R$12.2 million, with the specific value established at R$12,216,816.48.

The engineering firm MCDE Engenharia will execute the works, which encompass the supply of materials, labor, vehicles, machinery, and equipment. The deadline for completing these tasks is set at 12 months, calculated from the date of the service order's publication. This emergency contract was initially published by the state government on October 14 to improve the city's water distribution network and comply with Conduct Adjustment Term (TAC) No. 02/2026.

While the new publication authorizes the company to begin services, it does not provide a specific schedule for interventions or identify which neighborhoods will be served first. Additionally, there is no confirmation that work crews have already started on-site operations.

In a separate authorization published in the same edition of the Official Gazette, Sinfra approved another contract for the supply of membrane filtration equipment. These materials are destined for improvements at the Cristo Rei Water Treatment Station in Várzea Grande. The company Filmtec Water Brasil is responsible for this delivery, which is authorized to begin on October 28 with a deadline of 120 days from publication. This measure is distinct from the R$12.2 million contract awarded to MCDE Engenharia, and the document regarding the equipment modules does not disclose its specific value.
