Rodney Augusto Lara Ferreira, 29, was killed in a confrontation with military police on Tuesday in Andradina, in the state of São Paulo, according to the report. Police said no officers were injured.
The Civil Police said Ferreira was the subject of an arrest warrant related to domestic violence. A Tactical Force team located him at an abandoned house.
According to the account, officers were met with a gunshot when they entered the property. The shot was reportedly fired by Ferreira, and the team returned fire, hitting him. His death was confirmed at the scene.
The report said the Military Police had been asked about the incident and what measures would be taken regarding the officers involved, but had not responded by the time of its latest update.
